Introduction

Hello Saints.

We (the Family Camp Committee) thought it would be helpful to show everyone some pictures of Pinelow - our destination for family camp this year. So, some of us went and visited the camp on Friday, July 3. We took a bunch of pictures and thought a blog might be a good way to share them with the rest of the saints.

A few things to keep in mind:

1) This blog was not built by an expert blogger, so its not fancy, but it shows the pictures.
2) The camp still had a group clearing out - it is not in its fully cleaned state!
3) We hope you enjoy a glimpse of the camp - we think it looks pretty fun!
4) I tried to put the posts in order, but the blog would not agree with the order I wanted, so...the entries are random, but they still show all the pictures.
5) For those not familiar with blogs - when you get to the bottom of the first page, click on "older posts" and it will take you to the next page.

Cabins / Cottages

There are 2 types of lodging in this area: Cabins and Cottages. The only difference is that the cottages have bathrooms and showers as a part of the cottage - the bathrooms for the cabins are located a short walk away. There are 3 circles of cottages and cabins. The cottages and cabins both have nice little front porches. These pictures are of a cabin.

These pictures are of a cottage.
This is the bathhouse for the cabins - there are showers on one side (with tons of hot water, so they say) and toilets on the other.

Just a reminder - the cost of the cabins / cottages are $61.62 per adult and $33.75 per child (4-11 years old).

Game Room

The game room has ping pong tables, a hoop shooty thing and maybe a couple other games.

Playing Field

They have a big field with new soccer / football goals on it. They are putting new sod in a few places. They are also redoing the baseball diamond with new bases, lines and backdrop (are those the correct terms?)

Sand Volleyball Court

There is a sand volleyball court with a full sized basketball court right behind it. The sand in the volleyball court is good sand - I tested it out to make sure! They have a high and low ropes course, which is right behind the basketball court. We found out later that they also have a boccee (sp?) ball court.

Fire Pit

The fire pit is right next to the beach. It sounds as though there may be plans for roasting s'mores on Friday night...

The Beach!!

They have a wonderful sandy beach! The water was a great swimming temperature when we were there on July 3rd and should be even warmer when we are there for family camp. The water out at the rope is only about 6 feet deep! This is a view of the beach and swimming area from the deck of the dining hall.

There is dock space to moor boats, should anyone decide to bring one!

They have kayaks and canoes that we can use!
